Devizes Westminster is an excellent opportunity to get sponsorship and raise funds for charities and special causes. We’re pleased to support the Evelina Children’s Trust as our way of thanking St Thomas’s Hospital for their kind support at the finish of the race. We’re also happy to team up with Marie Curie Cancer Care who, like us, are celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2008. Or choose your own charity.

The Evelina Children's Hospital, at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, provides everything from routine care and minor surgery to life saving treatment for over 100,000 children every year. It serve patients from London, the south and much further a field in more serious cases.
The Evelina Children’s Hospital Appeal raises money to buy equipment, furnishings and toys so that the very best can be provided for children and their families.
Their current appeal is to raise �860,000 to extend their Neonatal unit’s capacity to meet the current demand for specialist intensive care cots to treat premature and sick babies.

2008 sees both Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon celebrating their 60th anniversary. In celebration of this Devizes to Westminster have chosen Marie Curie Cancer Care as one pf their nominated Charities for 2008.
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. We are a UK charity which helps people with cancer, their families and carers. Through our hospices we also provide the largest number of hospice beds outside the NHS and we investigate the causes and treatments of cancer at the Marie Curie Research Institute.
With your help Marie Curie Cancer Care can continue with their work. Marie Curie Nurses currently care for around half of all cancer patients who die at home. We’d like to reach the other half.
